Music is a good word: a five-letter two-syllable bit of language used freely and frequently in conversation and text. A single simple word that refers to countless varieties of human experience. Music is also ideas and the means of expressing them. It is the transmission, reception, translation, interpretation, generation, and, above all, the sharing of ideas.
 Sharing is a good word, too. It means giving and receiving, but it also means experiencing in common. For over twenty years now I've had the joy and honor to share music with my good and true friend Jon Gagan. It is in this duo setting that I feel most at home and inspired, free and connected, understood and encouraged.
 This album, this music, this sharing of air and spirit--and the endless potential for more growth, exploration and fun--has been a blessing to me. May there be many more such blessings to come.
